Ninth consecutive honor recognizes SPTS’s dedication to continuous improvement in accident prevention and employee wellbeing at work

NEWPORT, UNITED KINGDOM, 6th September, 2021 | SPTS Technologies, a KLA company, and a supplier of advanced wafer-processing solutions for the global semiconductor and related industries, today announced that it has received its ninth consecutive Gold Award in the Royal Society of Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

The RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK, and it receives entries from organizations across the globe, making it one of the most sought-after achievement awards for health and safety worldwide. Currently, around 7million people are directly impacted by the RoSPA Awards, but the scheme’s global influence is even wider – with nearly 2000 organizations from 46 countries represented this year.

With the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic,  SPTS introduced a range of new safety protocols in addition to normal accident prevention processes to protect the health and safety of all employees, which  ensured the business remained operational throughout lockdown. For employees who could not work from home, these measures included; installation and use of handwashing and temperature screening stations at all entry points, bi-weekly lateral flow testing, deep cleaning regimes, and staggered shifts to limit the number of employees on-site. For employees working from home, appropriate equipment was provided, and for all employees online fitness and wellness classes as well as access to additional health and wellbeing resources were provided. Employees also received regular communications on COVID regulations, updates on isolation and quarantine requirements, and full training on new protocols for returning to work on-site. The dedication and compliance of our senior management teams and all our employees ensured that there have been zero on-site COVID transmissions to date.

Dan Collins, General Manager of SPTS Technologies, said, “We pride ourselves on the level of continuous improvement throughout our organization, and being able to provide a safe and efficient work environment for our employees is always our top priority. It takes commitment and support of all staff to maintain this high standard of health and safety in the workplace year after year, and we’re very proud to share this achievement with all our employees who have shown great flexibility and resilience over the past 18 months to overcome all the new challenges posed by the pandemic.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s achievements director, said, “RoSPA is very proud of the achievements of its entrants, and with this award, we recognize the best of the best, those organizations that have gone the extra mile, raising the bar for the delivery of safety in the workplace. Employees, wherever they may be, should be able to go to work safe in the knowledge that they will return home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day.”
